Tasmanian Oak
Our Tasmanian Oak isn't quite the Tassie Oak you might know from a sawmill. Backsawn, it's busy: strong contrast, knots and marks running through the face. This is because we're working with lower-grade resource that a traditional mill would reject. Quartersawn, it settles right down, the veneers all run parallel, so the figure reads calmer and more even.
Tasmanian Oak is usually specified for internal applications, though H3 treatment can extend it to selected external uses where required.
Our Tasmanian Oak is covered under our Declare Label, and has earned Living Building Challenge Compliant status. It is also a Best Practice material under GBCA’s Responsible Products Framework.
All raw feedstock is responsibly sourced, backed by PEFC chain of custody, which is available on request.
